7 Days Rift Valley Safari

This 7 Day Rift Valley safari starts from Nairobi.

Safari proceeds to Amboseli National Park for wildlife viewing with sightings of the snow-caped mount Kilimanjaro. Amboseli is known for large herds of elephants traversing the Masai plains.

We head over to Lake Nakuru National Park after spending 2 nights in Amboseli. Lake Nakuru is a bird watchers paradise with sightings of White Pelicans, Flamingos, Yellow-Billed Stock among other birds with predators and grazers around the shores of the lake. Highlights of Lake Nakuru are the black Rhino, Reticulated Giraffe and tree-climbing lions.

Safari finalizes in Masai Mara where we spend 2 nights. Masai Mara’s annual wildebeest migration is the 7th Wonder of the World where thousands of wildebeest migrate from Tanzania’s Serengeti to Kenya’s Masai Mara. Highlights of Masai Mara include the Mara River where Nile Crocodile’s and Hippopotamus are in abundance, the Big Five; Lion, Elephant, Rhino, Leopard and Buffalo, and the mesmerizing endless landscape of dotted trees.

Itinerary

1 night Nairobi – 2 nights Amboseli – 1 night Lake Nakuru – 2 nights Masai Mara

Day 01: NAIROBI

You are met at JKIA airport and transferred to your Nairobi hotel for overnight with Bed & Breakfast.

DAY 02: NAIROBI – AMBOSELI

After an early breakfast you depart at 0800hrs the Amboseli National Park via the scenic Maasai/Kamba plains. You arrive in time for lunch followed by an afternoon game drive. Dinner & overnight at your camp/lodge.

DAY 03: AMBOSELI

A full day in Amboseli with a morning & afternoon game drive. The park is famous for large herds of friendly elephants and on a clear day spectacular views of Mt Killimanjaro the highest free standing mountain in the world. Breakfast, lunch dinner & overnight at your camp/lodge.

DAY 04: AMBOSELI – NAIROBI – LAKE NAKURU

After an early breakfast you depart at 0700hrs for Lake Nakuru via Nairobi with a brief stopover at the Great Rift Valley View Point. You arrive in time for lunch at your camp/lodge followed by an afternoon game drive in search of white & black rhino, flamingo and the elusive leopard. Dinner & overnight at your camp/lodge.

DAY 05: LAKE NAKURU – MAASAI MARA

An early breakfast and an 0800hrs departure for the Maasai Mara National Reserve. The journey offers a chance to view the Great Rift Valley Escarpment as you head towards the beautiful flower farms of Naivasha. Arrive at your camp/lodge in time for lunch. Afternoon game drive, dinner & overnight at your camp/ lodge.

DAY 06: MAASAI MARA

A full day in the savannahs of the Maasai Mara National Reserve with a morning & afternoon game drive searching for cheetah, lion and a vast array of African wildlife. Option to visit a Maasai Boma arranged by your driver/guide & paid direct by guest. Breakfast, lunch, dinner & overnight at your camp/lodge.

DAY 07: MAASAI MARA – NAIROBI

After an early breakfast you depart at 0800hrs for Nairobi to arrive at about 1330hrs. Upon arrival you are transferred to JKIA in time for your onward flight.
