6 Days Rift Valley Sweetwaters Safari
A 6 Day Kenya safari tour heading to Ol Pejeta Conservancy, Lake Nakuru National Park and Masai Mara Game Reserve.
This safari starts from Nairobi, Kenya and heads to Ol Pejeta in the Laikipia County.
Ol Pejeta Conservancy is situated in the equator, between the foothills of Aberdares and Mount Kenya. Ol Pejeta is the only conservancy in Kenya where you can see Chimpanzee in their natural habitat. You can also visit the Rhino Sanctuary to see the rare Northern White Rhino, the Southern White Rhino and the Black Rhino.
Tour proceeds to Lake Nakuru for more wildlife viewing drives. Lake Nakuru National Park is bird watchers paradise with sightings of White Pelicans, Flamingos, Yellow-Billed Stock among other birds with predators and grazers around the shores of the lake.
We finalize the safari with a visit to the great Masai Mara Game Reserve which is known for its annual wildebeest migration, vast wildlife and the Big Five; Lion, Elephant, Leopard, Buffalo and Rhino. Highlights of Masai Mara include the Mara River where Nile Crocodile’s and Hippopotamus are in abundance, the Big Five; Lion, Elephant, Rhino, Leopard and Buffalo, and the mesmerizing endless landscape of dotted trees.
Itinerary
1 night NAIROBI – 1 night SWEETWATERS – 1 night LAKE NAKURU – 2 nights MAASAI MARA
DAY 01: ARRIVAL NAIROBI
You are met at JKIA airport and transferred to your Nairobi hotel for overnight on Bed & Breakfast.
DAY 02: NAIROBI – OL PEJETA CONSERVANCY
Breakfast at 0700hrs. At 0800 hrs you depart for the Ol Pejeta Conservancy via the scenic countryside of Thika arriving in time for lunch at Sweetwaters Tented Camp. An afternoon game drive is scheduled in the conservancy which hosts all the Big Five consisting of elephant, black rhino, lion, buffalo & leopard. A visit to Sweetwaters Chimpanzee Sanctuary is included. Dinner and overnight at your camp.
DAY 03: OL PEJETA – LAKE NAKURU
After an early breakfast you depart at 0830 hrs for Lake Nakuru with a stopover at the breathtaking Thompson Falls. You arrive in Lake Nakuru in time for lunch. Afternoon game drive is scheduled in search of white & black rhino, flamingo and the elusive leopard. Dinner & overnight at your camp/lodge.
DAY 04: LAKE NAKURU – MAASAI MARA
0700hrs breakfast with a departure at 0800hrs for the Maasai Mara National Reserve. The journey offers a chance to view the Escarpment as you head towards the beautiful flower farms of Naivasha. Arrive at your camp/lodge in time for lunch. Afternoon game drive, dinner & overnight at your camp/ lodge.
DAY 05: MAASAI MARA
A full day in the Maasai Mara National Reserve with a morning & afternoon game drive searching for cheetah, lion and a vast array of African wildlife. Option to visit a Maasai Boma arranged by your driver/guide & paid direct by client. Breakfast, lunch, dinner & overnight at your camp/lodge.
DAY 06: MAASAI MARA – NAIROBI
An early breakfast then departure at 0800hrs for Nairobi arriving at about 1330hrs. Upon arrival you are transferred to JKIA in time for your onward flight.
